U.S. Congress

Rob Lubin

U.S. Congress - NY2
Rob Lubin

Rob Lubin is a small business owner and entrepreneur who is running for Congress to make New York a better place for all of us to live, work, and raise a family.

Rob has spent his career fighting hard to deliver results and create economic opportunities for others. Now he’s taking that fight to Congress to build a stronger economy for working families, end the gun violence epidemic, improve our water quality, look after our seniors, lower healthcare costs, defend a woman’s right to choose, cut red tape for small businesses, and keep Long Island families safe.

As a native New Yorker and as the son of an immigrant, Rob understands what the promise of America and New York means – both here at home and around the world. And he understands just how important it is to keep that dream and that promise alive.

John Avlon

U.S. Congress - NY1
John Avlon

I'm a native New Yorker and the grandson of immigrants. They inspired in me a deep love for our country and an appreciation that the blessings of America cannot be taken for granted.
I've warned about dangers to our democracy for over a decade — in books, columns and on TV. This election is not a drill. Now’s the time for us all to stand up and get off the sidelines.
We need to build the broadest possible coalition to defeat Donald Trump, defend democracy and win back the House from his extreme MAGA minions. That’s why I'm running for Congress in New York's 1st district.
If you’ve seen me on CNN or my appearances on Real Time with Bill Maher or the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, you know that I’ve consistently called out the unhinged extremism and poisonous polarization in our politics. I’ve tried to be a voice of reason in unreasonable times, preaching the need to focus on common facts and common ground so we can find solutions to our common problems.

Reema Rasool

US House - (NY-03)
Reema Rasool

My name is Reema Rasool and I am a life-long New Yorker, business builder, social entrepreneur, community organizer, and mother of two boys.

I’m running for Congress because I am sick and tired of the reality show-styled political rhetoric that has now become normalized. I believe our representatives should focus more on health, economic, and environmental justice for our communities, rather than on themselves.

Alessandra Biaggi

US House - (NY-03)
Alessandra Biaggi

Alessandra Biaggi is a lifelong New Yorker and two-term New York State Senator in Westchester and the Bronx. In 2018, she defeated the powerful head of the IDC to put Democrats back in full control of New York’s State Senate, for the first time in 100 years. As chair of the Ethics and Internal Governance Committee, Senator Biaggi immediately began changing the way business was done in Albany.

Robert Zimmerman

US House - (NY-03)
Robert Zimmerman

Our Democracy and Constitution are under assault. So much is at stake. The role of Congress has never been more crucial for our nation’s future. We are also emerging into an unprecedented age of innovation and infrastructure, and we have to make sure that our communities and middle class families are not left behind.

Robert, like many other closeted gay young men, struggled to find his voice. Coming of age in the suburbs was a lonely and isolating place. A trusted educator even once assured him there were doctors who could “make you well.” Conversion therapy was never an option, but the notion of “not being well” was tough to shake and helped Robert find his voice. He began to use it for others that society marginalized, left out, and refused to recognize.

Melanie D’Arrigo

US House (NY-03)
Melanie D'Arrigo

Melanie D’Arrigo is a healthcare advocate, community organizer and mother of three who believes we need leaders in Washington to stand up and fight for Long Island, Queens, the Bronx and Westchester families—not become part of the same broken system.

Melanie was born into an impoverished family on the South Shore of Long Island, and raised in a union household by her grandmother. With grit and determination, Melanie beat the odds and was the first in her family to attend college—working numerous jobs while attending Barnard, and graduating with thousands in student loans.

Josh Lafazan

US House - (NY-03)
Josh Lafazan

Josh Lafazan became the youngest elected official in New York State history when he won a seat on the Syosset School Board at age 18, running on a platform of taking on a bloated administration that wasn’t adequately serving students.

He became the youngest Nassau County Legislator when he beat an incumbent in a Trump district in 2017. He’s been re-elected twice in otherwise tough Democratic years.

Josh has passed more bills than any County Legislator in Nassau’s history that tackle the opioid epidemic, care for our veteran and disabled populations, and bolster our schools for future generations.

Josh is also employed at Northwell Health where he focuses on corporate social responsibility with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and he teaches a course at Long Island University.

Michael Weinstock

US House - (NY-03)

Michael Weinstock wants New Yorkers to be proud of our elected officials again. That’s why he is running for Congress. Michael was a sex crimes prosecutor. And before that, he was a volunteer firefighter. If elected, he will become the first 9/11 rescue worker elected to Congress. Michael will also become the first openly gay person to represent New York City or Long Island, in Congress.

When Michael was in high school, both of his parents struggled with alcohol and he was briefly homeless. Fortunately, he joined the local fire department, where he found a surrogate family . The members of the volunteer fire department not only invited him into their homes and made sure he had a safe place to live, but they also encouraged him to go to college and pushed him to go to law school.

Nancy Goroff

Nancy Goroff

Suffolk is home. It’s where I raised my two daughters, both of whom are proud graduates of Ward Melville HS. It’s where I work. For the past twenty-two years, I have taught at Stony Brook University, and for the past two and a half years, I have been the chair of the Chemistry Department at Stony Brook. Suffolk is where I built my life. But right now, DC politicians are pushing an agenda that hurts the place we love and the people we care about.

To protect Suffolk we have to fix Washington. As a mom and scientist.
