I’ve been a public servant since 1986 and worked for the Town Of Islip Highway for 20 years and then for the Town of Huntington Highway Office for 10 years. I also served in the U.S. Army for 10 years with 2 Combat Deployments. While in Huntington working directly for the Superintendent of Highway, I learned the following is essential for the office I’m seeking:

Lillian Clayman has a record of accomplishment and experience necessary to set Brookhaven on the right path. As the former Mayor of Hamden, CT, Clayman increased services in the town and never raised taxes for six consecutive years. During her three terms, Clayman eliminated a looming town deficit, balanced the budget, and increased the town’s bond rating, introduced a town-wide composting plan, built a linear park, and paved over 40 miles of roads. Since 2005, Lillian and her husband Roger, have lived in Port Jefferson. She teaches at SUNY-Old Westbury, where she is a member of NYSUT and serves on the Executive Board of UUP. She also teaches at Opportunities Long Island, a pre-apprenticeship program, and taught financial literacy in the “Dress for Success” program in Brookhaven.

Scott Carrigan is a private practitioner with extensive experience in the areas of criminal law and personal injury. In 1989 Mr. Carrigan was hired as an assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, handling all phases of criminal investigation and prosecution. In 1993 he became a criminal defense attorney and over the decades has handled all forms of criminal and personal injury cases (construction accidents, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and wrongful deaths), in both the State and Federal Courts, on Long Island and New York City.

Anthony Manetta took office as Town Councilman January 1st, 2018.

Councilman Manetta is the Chairman of the Town of Babylon Small Business Committee. The Committee was formed by Town Board Resolution with a focus to promote small business across the Town and foster collaboration.

Councilman Manetta has consistently said that the Town of Babylon’s small businesses are the backbone of our local economy. He has driven key small business initiatives during his time in office by securing partnerships with National, State and Regional business groups. These include the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale College. The Councilman has launched multiple seminars for business owners on topics such as “Access to Capital” providing resources on obtaining grants and loans to support a company’s growth.

Maria Scheuring

Maria has been a Smithtown resident for the past fifteen years. Her three children are students that attend Smithtown schools. Her law office is also located in Smithtown. She is a graduate of Fordham Law School and has been practicing law for the past 25 years, concentrating her legal work in the areas of general litigation, matrimonial, guardianships and entertainment contracts. She is also the current Executive Director for the popular ‘Alive After Five’ music festival for the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.

Kristina Martin-Majdisova

Shelter Island Town Clerk

Kristina Martin-Majdisova, candidate for the Town Clerk is currently a Clerk to the Zoning and Planning Board, as well as Clerk to the Waterways Management and Water Advisory Committee. She was also appointed as a legal aid for the Town Attorney and the Media Department personnel. Computer savvy, she was a key employee to kick off the digital filing system and handles the technical aspect of all Town Board meetings. Her managerial capabilities prove that she is the right person to bring in progress and improvements to the Town Clerk’s Office, simplify and streamline the complicated bureaucracy processes.

Brett Surerus

Shelter Island Council

A problem solver and solution provider, Brett is constantly looking for and devising new creative ways
to address needs throughout Shelter Island. He’s a former VP of commercial banking at a global bank, and is currently the president of the Shelter Island Fireworks, the co-founder of the Shelter Island Action Alliance and a coach for SI Little League. He has
served as treasurer to the Island Gift of Life Foundation and on the Chamber of Commerce and Shelter Island Preschool boards. Brett grew up on Shelter Island, graduated from Shelter Island School and lives on Shelter Island with his wife Kelly, and his 2 children,
Jackson and Piper. “Shelter Island is at its best when we come together and fight for our shared interests”

Ellen Hoil moved from her childhood home in Smithtown to Riverhead over 20 years ago and has established herself as a dedicated community member.
Ellen attended undergraduate and graduate school on Long Island, culminating in earning her law degree from Touro College. She is a former union member, a respected author, and a firm believer in the ethical and professional requirements of being an attorney.

Juan Micieli-Martinez

Riverhead Town Council

Juan Miceli-Martinez is a life-long, East End resident, who owns a home in Downtown Riverhead. His parents were hard-working; Mom a union factory worker at Trutech and Dad, a postal worker both in Riverhead.

Juan attended SUNY Binghamton earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Biology and Psychology. During senior year, he developed a love and interest in wine. This curiosity would be the seed that would start his twenty-year craft beverage journey.
