BOHEMIA– Patricia Calligeros, of Coram, was today named the Suffolk County Democratic Committee’s volunteer of the week for her efforts to make Steve Bellone the next County Executive and reelect County Legislator Sarah Anker. Patricia, who began helping in August after meeting Steve Bellone at a house party, comes in a few times a week to make phone calls. read more »

Hauppauge's Lauren DeVietro Named Suffolk County Democratic Committee "Volunteer of the Week"

BOHEMIA – Lauren DeVietro, 17, of Hauppauge, was today named the Suffolk County Democratic Committee’s volunteer of the week for her efforts to reelect Islip Supervisor Phil Nolan, Councilwoman Renee Ortiz and Gene Parrington and make Steve Bellone the next County Executive. Lauren has been helping the Democratic Party since June, talking to voters, knocking on doors, making phone calls, entering data and helping out with events. Now between schoolwork and college applications, she manages to fit in at least five-hours a week at headquarters. read more »

BOHEMIA – A trio of Republican Legislative candidates who have had tax liens filed against them are now seeking to sell tax liens to help pay for their plans to expand Suffolk County government. Suffolk Democrats blasted the Republican candidate for county executive Angie Carpenter this week for not yet releasing her plan to revive Suffolk’s economy, saying it was preventing a proper debate between her and her opponent.
