Eric Shultz began his career in Town Government in 1972 when he was appointed to the Town Conservation Board at the age of 17. In 1982 he was appointed as the youngest person in Southampton’s history to serve on the Town Planning Board. After 13 years he left the Planning Board as its Vice Chairman to assume the role as an elected Town Trustee. He has been a Trustee since 1996 and currently serves as President.

Bill Pell
Bill has been a Southampton Town Trustee since 2009. Being a Town Trustee is perhaps one of the most important services a citizen of our community can undertake.
Established in 1686, the Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the Town of Southampton is the oldest continually elected board in North America. Their continuing charge is the stewardship of more than 25,000 acres of undivided lands consisting mostly of Southampton’s shores, water ways, marshes, and bottomlands.

As Southampton Town Councilman, I have worked to preserve our majority on the Southampton Town Board and I am very proud of the accomplishments I have both led and shared with my fellow Council members. We have continued to work together to serve the public and have pursued an aggressive agenda including water quality, alternative energy policies, environmental justice, assisted living legislation, affordable workforce housing and so much more.
