More than 600 Attend the Suffolk County Democratic Committee’s Fall Gala supporting Steve Bellone for County Executive

BABYLON – Babylon Town Supervisor and Democratic Suffolk County Executive Candidate Steve Bellone and more than 600 supporters tonight welcomed Governor Andrew Cuomo to Suffolk County as he headlined the Suffolk County Democratic Committee’s Fall Gala. The event raised approximately $500,000 for Bellone’s campaign for Suffolk County Executive.

“Steve Bellone knows how to make government work because he’s done it,” Governor Andrew Cuomo told a cheering crowd. “He’s proven that he can make government efficient and make the government effective. He respected the taxpayers and reduced the debt and reduced taxes. These times are tough and Steve’s direction is the way up.”

“I am honored that Governor Cuomo came to Suffolk County tonight to support my campaign for County Executive,” said Bellone. “In just a few short months, Governor Cuomo has shown real leadership and made all New Yorkers proud. Marriage equality and the two-percent property tax cap are historic measures to protect civil rights and economic prosperity across New York State. As County Executive, I will bring a similar style of leadership and work closely with Governor Cuomo to make Suffolk prosper.”

The Suffolk County Democratic Committee has built an unprecedented grassroots field operation that has already made 200,000 phone calls and knocked on more than 175,000 doors across the county. Last month, Bellone released ambitious economic plans to transform Suffolk County into an economic powerhouse.
