Speak out! SC Public Works, Transportation & Energy Committee

Date:
Monday, January 29, 2018 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm
Long Island Action

We want Suffolk Transit to restore the cuts from last year, and expand service so we can have #mobilityforall in Suffolk County.

This is the Suffolk County Legislature Committee that oversees the SC Transit bus system which meets every month and is the 1st meeting of the year. There are several new member legislators, so this is the time to make a first impression on them about the buses.

This is the chance for us to come out and voice their displeasure at the state of the bus system. This particular meeting will be short, because there is very little legislation on the table. This means there is ample time for the public portion for Bus Riders to articulate there concerns. If we don't make an impact at this 1st meeting, it will be an uphill battle. This is our opportunity to bring positive changes.

There are positive things happening and for once it is not lip service, but unless Bus Riders keep the pressure on by attending ALL meetings, momentum swings the other way.

You must be there by 2pm since the public portion is the first item on the agenda. Each of us can get three minutes to speak our mind about the bus system. To speak, come a little early if possible and fill out a card that will be given out at either the front or back of the room.

This meeting starts at 2pm and is on Monday Jan. 29th in:
Suffolk County Legislature
William H. Rogers Building
Main Auditorium
725 Veterans Memorial Highway
Smithtown, NY

To get there by bus, take either:
- S27 ( http://www.sct-bus.org/schedules/s27.pdf )
- S33 ( http://www.sct-bus.org/schedules/s33.pdf )
- S45 ( http://www.sct-bus.org/schedules/s45.pdf )
- S54 ( http://www.sct-bus.org/schedules/s54.pdf )
- S62 ( http://www.sct-bus.org/schedules/s62.pdf )
and get off at the stop labeled "Hauppauge Suffolk Cty. North Complex" which is the closest stop to the building.
