We will be canvassing Senator Flanagan's district, who is the State Senate Majority Leader. No matter what the pundits tell you, our Senators and Assembly members can be doing a lot more for S4840 - The New York Health Act. We want our neighbors to be demanding it. We also want to show them that Socialists are fighting for them.
We'll meet in the Holiday Inn Express parking lot, have a 20 minute "training" Afterwards, we will cut turf, assign buddies (if needed) and start canvassing.
The New York Health Act would create a universal single payer health plan to provide comprehensive health coverage for all New Yorkers. Every New York resident would be eligible to enroll, regardless of age, income, wealth, employment, or other status. There would be no network restrictions, deductibles, or co-pays. Coverage would be publicly funded. The benefits will include comprehensive outpatient and inpatient medical care, primary and preventive care, prescription drugs, laboratory tests, rehabilitative, dental, vision, hearing, etc.
