Dem. County Executive Candidate Visits Businesses; Joined by Mayor Pontieri and Leg. Candidate Rob Calarco

BABYLON – Babylon Town Supervisor and Democratic Suffolk County Executive Candidate Steve Bellone toured downtown Patchogue with Mayor Paul Pontieri earlier this afternoon. Candidate for Suffolk County Legislature Rob Calarco joined Steve to speak with local businesses about how County government can help them grow.

“It is important for me to hear firsthand from small business owners about how we can help them thrive," said Steve. “We have tremendous resources here on Long Island – a highly educated workforce, remarkable natural beauty and proximity to New York City – and as County Executive I want to work with local business leaders to reduce red tape and other barriers to growth so we can create more good, high paying jobs across Suffolk County.”

“It is a great sign that the next County Executive wants to come to Patchogue and listen to small business owners,” said Mayor Pontieri. “Steve has accomplished great things in Babylon, and his leadership is exactly what Suffolk County needs moving forward.”

Steve met with the owners of several longtime Patchogue small businesses including the Colony Store and Blum's and toured some of the village's more recent additions, such as the revitalized Patchogue Theatre and Artspace.

Next week, Steve will unveil his economic plan to move Suffolk County forward that will incorporate his record in Babylon of reducing taxes, creating jobs, and making government more efficient.
