For the past 10 years, Alberts, 33, of North Babylon, has worked for the Suffolk County Board of Elections. He ran for the same office in 2014 and ran for Suffolk County Legislature in 2007. Alberts grew up in Bay Shore and graduated from St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington in 2002. He received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Rose in 2006.
Alberts said that should he be elected, he would like to try to reduce the burden of property taxes on Long Islanders and would focus on trying to retain and create good-paying jobs on Long Island. His goal, he said, is to prevent young people just out of college from leaving the area to work and live in other states
