Suffolk Legislature (4th LD)

Joseph Turdik

Suffolk Legislature (4th LD)

Turdik, 67, of Selden, has previously run twice for this seat.

Turdik trains poll inspectors for the Suffolk County Board of Elections, where he has worked for 10 years. The Navy veteran previously worked as a sales manager for Ryder Transportation and as a Brookhaven Town deputy aviation and transportation commissioner. He previously owned a pub with his family.

Turdik attended Suffolk County Community College and graduated from the New York Institute of Technology.

Turdik said his top priority is the environment. He wants to replace cesspools with septic and sewage treatment systems.

Turdik said he wants to secure more funding for the district, including for projects to protect the environment and cut noise pollution for residents living along major roadways.

Turdik said he supports the county’s red-light camera program because it has reduced accidents.

Jason Richberg

Jason Richberg

A native of Long Island, Jason Andrew Richberg currently serves as Suffolk County Legislator for the 15th LD.
An advisor to former Suffolk County Legislator and Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory,
Richberg began his career in government in in 2010, when he was named Chief of Staff to
Legislator Gregory.
In 2014, when Gregory was elected Presiding Officer, Jason was appointed Chief Deputy Clerk
of the Legislature, serving for one year before being named Clerk of the Legislature.
Richberg’s years in government are rich with experience, starting in 2010 when he created
Gregory’s Youth Leadership Caucus to mentor young adults from the community who volunteer
their time on local service projects.

Michael Siderakis

For 28 years, I had the honor of serving the people of the State of New York as a State Trooper, adhering to the State Police vision “To serve, protect and defend the people while preserving the rights and dignity of all”.

My wife Sandra and I have been married for 25 years. We raised our three children here in Nesconset on Long Island. Family has always been the most important value to us; but we have work to do to make this a great place to raise future generations.

Margot Rosenthal

Suffolk Legislature (12th LD)

Margot Rosenthal is a Smithtown Democratic Committee-person, a Midwife, and a Nurse Practitioner. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and graduated from Stuyvesant HS. She is the daughter of a World War II Veteran, and both of her parents were NYC public school teachers.

Margot received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN) from New York University, Midwifery Certification from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and a Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner Certification) from Stony Brook University. She has worked with underprivileged patients for the past 39 years as a Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, and Nursing Instructor in various hospital and clinical settings in NYC and Long Island She currently works as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric care for the elderly in nursing homes throughout Suffolk County.

Margot has been a Smithtown resident for 30 years. Margot is married to Gary Rosenthal, a County Prosecutor of child abuse and neglect cases. They are the proud parents of 4 Smithtown public school graduates. If elected, Margot plans to bring her expertise to the Suffolk County Legislature and seeks to address various healthcare, housing, education, and environmental issues in our community. Specifically, Margot intends to work on improving access to mental health care and combating the opioid crisis, and she plans to fight for additional laws designed to limit teenage vaping.

Jan Singer

Jan Singer

Jan Singer spent decades vigorously advocating for people she represented, putting the interests of the individuals for whom she served as attorney before all other interests. Ms. Singer used her skills as negotiator, counselor, mediator and advocate for decades to represent clients in matrimonial, estate, and real estate matters and now she is ready, willing and able to use those valuable skills on behalf of the residents of the 13th Legislative District of Suffolk County.

David Bligh

David Bligh

David Bligh was born and raised on Long Island. Growing up in Ronkonkoma, his mother was a nursery school teacher and his father worked in manufacturing. In order to pay his way through school, David worked with his father in a family-owned manufacturing plant. David lives in Holbrook with his wife, Elizabeth, a stay-at-home Mom, and their three young children. He is a civil engineering graduate of the University of Delaware and professional engineer in the state of New York. For fifteen years, David has worked as an environmental engineer at a Suffolk County consulting firm, investigating properties for the presence of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor contamination and designing the cleanup plans and treatment systems to protect both the environment and members of our community. David has been an advocate for his community fighting to improve the lives of his neighbors by being heavily involved in local civic and charitable organizations whether it be Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or several local community leaders running for political office.
