Rep. Bishop Receives NARAL Pro-Choice New York Endorsement and Launches the Woman to Woman Phone Bank

August 12, 2014

Farmingville, N.Y.—Rep. Tim Bishop received the endorsement of NARAL Pro-Choice New York and launched the Woman to Woman phone bank to reach female voters and highlight his commitment to women’s health and pay equality. Rep Bishop joined NARAL Pro-Choice New York President Andrea Miller and candidate for New York State Senate Adrienne Esposito to make calls to female voters in the 1st Congressional District and communicate his strong support for women’s issues.

Rep Bishop said, “I am honored to receive this endorsement from NARAL Pro-Choice New York, an organization with an unyielding commitment to women’s health. I have long been an advocate for women’s issues, whether it’s the right to choose or supporting the women of the middle class by ensuring they receive equal pay for equal work. I’m excited to see the passionate volunteers of the Woman to Woman phone bank get this message out.”

NARAL Pro-Choice New York President Andrea Miller said, “We’re proud to endorse Rep. Bishop, who has a long record of supporting a woman’s right to choose. Long Island voters deserve to be represented by a leader who will protect and fight for women’s health and equality, not an anti-choice candidate like Lee Zeldin who opposed pro-choice, pro-women legislation while in the New York State Senate.”

New York State Senate candidate Adrienne Esposito said, “Now, more than ever, we need representatives like Congressman Bishop who will fight against the recent attempts to roll back hard won women’s rights over the last few years.”

NARAL Pro-Choice New York is the New York affiliate of NARAL Pro-Choice America, a political and advocacy organization committed to protecting the full range of reproductive choices for women. NARAL and its members work to elect pro-choice lawmakers, hold them accountable and educate voters on women’s issues.

Bishop For Congress’ Woman to Woman phone bank is a group of female volunteers who make calls to inform women voters of Rep. Bishop’s support for women’s right to choose, equal pay for women and his efforts to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. The group meets every Monday at 6PM at the Bishop For Congress Farmingville location.
