LAURA JENS-SMITH TO HOLD NEWS CONFERENCE
ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE WILL RELEASE HER “COMMON SENSE NEW YORK” PLATFORM
On the heels of her resounding primary election victory [76%], Democratic Assembly Candidate Laura Jens-Smith (NY AD2) will release her "Common Sense New York" platform on Monday, July 27, 2020, at 11 am, in front of Riverhead Town Hall.
Jens-Smith, the former Supervisor of Riverhead and President of the Mattituck Cutchogue school board, will chart a path forward for Long Island that includes the creation of a suburban caucus in Albany, putting middle class families first, supporting local law enforcement and outlining best practices for beating the Covid crisis.
“I am running to be a tireless advocate for Long Island’s forgotten middle class... Hard, working New Yorkers aren’t getting ahead, they’re running in place and leaving in droves. We need to do better,” said Jens-Smith.
Jens-Smith said, “For too long our politics has been stuck in the mud because both parties do nothing but fight. My "Common Sense New York" agenda isn't about party politics, it’s about solutions that will keep us safe and build New York back stronger than ever.”
All members of the media are invited to attend the July 27th event which will be held outdoors. We ask members of the media to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines by remaining a minimum of six feet apart from each other.
