East Hampton Town Justice

My family and I have lived in East Hampton for over 30 years. My wife, Stephanie, and I have raised our 2 children here, and both Alexander and Kylie have returned here to live, after going away to college. Alexander has his own landscaping business (and with his wife, Nicole, gave us the gift a granddaughter – Piper!) and Kylie teaches the 3rd grade bilingual education class at John Marshall Elementary School.

I have been committed to public service for as long as I have lived here. I am most proud to be a long time active member of the East Hampton Fire Department, having served as Chief of the Department for 2 terms. I was an appointed member of the East Hampton Town Board of Assessment Review for several years. I coached Little League for 10 years. As an attorney, I have provided pro bono representation to a number of not for profit organizations – Citizens for Access Rights (CFAR), East Hampton Sportsmen’s Alliance, Pediatric Dental Fund and other groups and individuals.

I have been a practicing attorney for nearly 40 years, with much of that time spent in the courtroom. I have served as an Assistant District Attorney, a civil trial attorney and a sole practitioner with a general practice. The experience that I had with every type of case, criminal or civil, that is heard in Justice Court was excellent preparation for my transition to becoming an East Hampton Town Justice in January 2014. I take that responsibility very seriously, and work very hard to apply the law firmly, fairly and equally to all. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve the East Hampton community as a Town Justice for another 4 year term.
