Michael Conroy is a 57 year old resident of Manorville who is running for the New York State Assembly to support Governor Cuomo’s vision of making New York State a good place to work, prosper, enjoy and take pride in.
As a construction worker and later as a labor representative he understands the importance of good paying jobs with benefits. Michael is a 37 Year Member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, where he spent 14 years as an executive board member, including time as Political Director and Organizing Director.
He is a 20-year member and former Vice Chairman of both the Suffolk County Democratic Committee and Brookhaven Town Democratic Committee. He is a former Chairman of the Suffolk County Democratic Committee Screening Committee and currently is a member of the New York State Democratic Committee.
As a member of the NYS Assembly Michael would look to protect workers and help create more good paying jobs with benefits. “I would work to fight unscrupulous contractors paying cash or 1099 forms to their workers. This practice is robbing NYS of more than 4 billion dollars a year in taxes”.
Michael currently lives in Manorville with his wife and two daughters.
