Linda Davis Valdez

Linda Davis Valdez moved to the town of Huntington in 1975. She attended schools in both the Harborfields and Huntington School Districts, and graduated from Huntington High School in 1979. Linda attended Adelphi University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science. Her concentration was Social and Cultural Studies, and Law and Social Inequality. She was an active member of the Criminal Justice Club.
Linda has worked within the Criminal Justice system for approximately 18 years. She is currently employed with New York City Criminal Justice Agency, as a Court Services Coordinator, and Youth Engagement Coordinator. She supervises a Team of Pretrial Associates, who are responsible for interviewing nearly every individual who is arrested for a crime within the borough of Queens. Additionally, Linda works with youth, ages 14-17, and their families, helping them navigate the arraignment process, and subsequent court appearances, while focusing on providing referral services that would help place the youth on a path outside of the justice system. Linda has held a similar role in Kings County.
She has also worked at Suffolk County Family Court, as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for children whose parent/s were involved with Family Treatment Court, which is the Drug Court at Family Court. She also worked similarly at Nassau County Family Court, where in addition to working as an advocate, she was the Case/Program Coordinator responsible for hiring, and training volunteer advocates.
Prior to working within the Criminal Justice field, Linda spent 20 years working as a Licensed Financial Services Representative. She held Series 7, 63, and Life, Accident and Health Licenses. Throughout her financial career not only did she manage accounts and trade stocks, bonds, mutual funds and options, she was also responsible for Branch Administration, Team Development, Marketing, Business Development, and Coordinating Seminars. Linda started her career at Shearson Lehman Brothers, she also worked at Chase Investment Services, Paine Webber, and A.G. Edwards.

In addition to working full time, Linda, a graduate of the Suffolk County Child Care Council Parent Leadership Program, has served on PTA Executive Boards in the Elwood School District, holding the position of Secretary, at 3 of the 4 schools, and President of the High School PTSA. She chaired committees, and worked with Legislators, members of the Attorney General’s Office, Suffolk County Police Department, and other agencies to bring programs to the families of Elwood. Linda was also a Cub Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Church Deacon, and community volunteer who spearheaded clothing and food drives. Some of which were covered in local newspapers.

Linda has years of advocacy, community service, investigative, and leadership experience. Having worked in various environments, she is comfortable engaging with professionals and individuals of diverse backgrounds.

Linda has stated that her background, and her love for the Town of Huntington make her well suited for the role of Huntington Town Clerk.

Linda lives with her husband Richard in the Elwood Community. She and her husband have three children, and three grandchildren.
