Dawn Sharrock

Suffolk Legislature (4th LD)

“As a mother and school board trustee, I have focused my life on ensuring the wellbeing of my children and the children of our community. I understand families are facing unprecedented challenges and can not afford bearing the burden of governmental mismanagement. Our district needs a representative that will be their voice to protect families from higher taxes and less services. I believe that with me working for the families of our community, brighter days are ahead.”

Dawn Sharrock is a devoted mother and community leader, having served as a member of the Middle Country Central School District’s board since 2016. Dawn serves as Chair of the Middle Country Legislative/Community Outreach Committee, where she works hand in hand with elected officials in a non-partisan co-operative way to better serve the community. During her time on the board, Dawn has partnered with elected officials on behalf of students and the community. The safety of our children has been and continues to be a key priority for Dawn. Dawn has fought to close loopholes that allowed public access to active school buildings. Working with members of the Suffolk County Legislature, Dawn helped secure the passage of legislation that placed cameras on school bus stop signs. This legislation has helped to protect the lives of thousands of Suffolk County children.

Dawn and her husband, Ronald, a longtime union steamfitter, have lived in Selden for two decades, raising two wonderful daughters who both attend Middle Country schools. As a mother, Dawn wants what all parents do for their children, a safe and nurturing community where they can thrive. Ensuring our area remains a wonderful place to start a family is why Dawn entered into public service, and she will fight to make sure the future is bright for our next generation. With years of public service and volunteering behind her, Dawn is ready to tackle the challenges we face by being your voice in the Suffolk County Legislature.
