(Huntington Station, NY) On Thursday June 27th Bill Lindsay III, who is running for Suffolk County Legislature in the 8th District, was honored by Deputy Presiding Officer Wayne Horsley and members of the Melville Chamber of Commerce in the Microsoft Store at the Walt Whitman Mall for his years of service as a member and as Vice President of the Chamber.

Monica Martinez victory the result of get-out-the-vote effort

When Tony Martinez knocked on a Brentwood door late Tuesday to get out the vote for his sister Monica in a Democratic legislative primary, the woman who answered said the family had already gotten the word to cast ballots.

"She said her sister, a third-year student at Brown University, had phoned home telling everyone to vote for her former teacher," said Martinez, co-chairman of Steve Bellone's 2011 transition team and manager of his sister Monica Martinez's campaign.

Independence Party Endorses Lindsay III

The Suffolk County Independence Party announced that it is endorsing Democratic candidate Bill Lindsay III in his bid to replace his father's seat as the Suffolk County Legislator for the 8th District.

The party announced its endorsement in a statement after it said it vetted both Lindsay and Anthony Musumeci, Lindsay's Republican opponent in the election. As a result of the endorsement, Lindsay III will be running on the Democratic and Independence ticket when voters step into the booth in November.
Frank MacKay, chairman of the Suffolk County Independence Party cited the Holbrook native's pro-business positions as the reason for giving Lindsay the nod.
