Southampton NY- On June 2 the Suffolk County Legislature supported two resolutions sponsored by Deputy Presiding Officer Schneiderman (I-Hampton Bays) authorizing the donation of surplus county para-transit busses to St. Michaels Windmill Housing Development Fund Corporation and Camp Soulgrow at fair market value.

"Not-for-profits on the East End are in dire need for additional transportation resources" said Legislator Schneiderman "these busses will provide two great community organizations the ability to safely transport members to events and workshops."

St. Michael's is a not-for-profit housing complex for low income senior citizens, with a mission to provide clean, safe, and affordable housing. Camp Soulgrow is a not-for-profit organization that offers creative learning experiences and adventures to help inspire children via community businesses and local artists.

"St. Michaels Housing just learned it will receive a bus through Suffolk County" said manager Kathy Byrnes "this bus will enable us to transport our senior population to programs and activities that they otherwise would not be able to attend. Thank you Legislator Schneiderman for this wonderful gift."

"I would like to thank Legislator Schneiderman for all of his efforts in securing this bus for Camp Soulgrow" said executive director London Rosiere, "this gives us the opportunity to safely transport our kids."
