LI Activists is registered with the 2018 NYC Women's March as an official group. Please RSVP on this link for the march so I know how many of us will be marching. I will be taking the Babylon Train Line into Penn. Once at Penn I will wait at the Starbucks closest to the Madison Square Garden exit until 9:45. At 9:45 will start walking up 7th Avenue to Broadway and down Broadway to Columbia Circle. Will wait at the corner of 58th & Broadway for people until 10:45. March starts at 11am. Starting points have not yet been given out by the March. Will update as soon as I have a formal starting point. Route subject to change once final places given out.

Some additional info from one of the safety volunteers:

I’m one of the safety volunteers and went to the training this past weekend.  Here’s what they told me: The plan is to use Central Park West between W 61st and 80th Street as the gathering point before the actual march.  The police will set up barricades all around, forming an enclosed pen, and will allow the early arrivals access into it exclusively through a gate at Broadway and 64th St.  And when the pen on Central Park West between 61st and 64th is filled, they will switch to a gate at 68th & Broadway, and fill up the next pen.  And when the pen between 64th and 68th fills up, they will switch to a gate at 72nd & Broadway.  And so on, into the West 80s.  There will not be any access to the pens from the park, or from Columbus Circle.  You have to walk around to one of the gates on Broadway to get in.  So you might want to take a subway to 66th or 72nd St from the Seventh Ave side of Penn Station rather than walk.

The actual route of the march will be from Central Park West to Columbus Circle to Central Park South to Sixth Ave to W 44th Street.  There will be speeches with a rally from 11am to 1pm, and then a moment of silence, then the march begins at 1pm.  By that time, the pens may be filled on Central Park West up into the 80s, so it will take a few hours for everyone at the back to get going.  And then after all the marchers get to W 44th additional political events taking place around the city later in the afternoon will be announced.  They had no details on those yesterday.
