Our campaign has received word that based on our strong stance on labor issues and innovative job creation plan we obtained the endorsement of 1199 SEIU (Service Employees International Union) United Healthcare Workers.
1199 SEIU is a union of healthcare workers that work in the areas of home-care, hospital and nursing home industries, as well as pharmacies, freestanding clinics and other healthcare settings. In the New York City/Long Island region, membership is more than 200,000 individuals.
Having so many members of my family working in the healthcare industry, this endorsement means so much to me, personally. These men and women care for our sick, our infirm and our elderly everyday and I would like to thank them for their dedication to the community and for their support in this race.
This is additional evidence that our dedication to the working families of Suffolk County has not gone unnoticed. Thank you to 1199 SEIU for your support and I vow that I will continue to strive to ensure that your voices are heard loud and clear once I am a member of the State Assembly.
