East Hampton

Steven Tekulsky

East Hampton Town Justice

My family and I have lived in East Hampton for over 30 years. My wife, Stephanie, and I have raised our 2 children here, and both Alexander and Kylie have returned here to live, after going away to college. Alexander has his own landscaping business (and with his wife, Nicole, gave us the gift a granddaughter – Piper!) and Kylie teaches the 3rd grade bilingual education class at John Marshall Elementary School.

I have been committed to public service for as long as I have lived here. I am most proud to be a long time active member of the East Hampton Fire Department, having served as Chief of the Department for 2 terms. I was an appointed member of the East Hampton Town Board of Assessment Review for several years. I coached Little League for 10 years. As an attorney, I have provided pro bono representation to a number of not for profit organizations – Citizens for Access Rights (CFAR), East Hampton Sportsmen’s Alliance, Pediatric Dental Fund and other groups and individuals.

Jeffery Bragman

East Hampton Town Council

Jeff has been a resident of East Hampton for thirty years and is a graduate of Yale University. He runs a small law firm, and is a zoning, planning and environmental lawyer and activist who has served as counsel on all of East Hampton’s appointed boards. His firm is unique on the East End because it regularly takes on environmental causes on behalf of local residents and public interest groups, opposing over-development.

Brian Byrnes

East Hampton Trustee

Brian is a student of Trustee history, so he knows what a battle it has been to maintain the health and quality of East Hampton waters and its shellfish industry. Brian is completing his second term as an East Hampton Trustee having been elected in 2013 on the Democratic and Independence Party lines. Brian and his wife Kathy have lived in East Hampton for many years and have four sons, three of whom were raised in East Hampton. He is a foreman and Superintendent for 3 senior citizens housing projects in Town and is deeply committed to the community. He makes it a point to get involved as much as possible, whether as a member of the East Hampton Disability Advisory Board or as a volunteer for the East Hampton Food Pantry. One of his greatest passions is his love for the water and the everchanging coastline, which has brought him to be active and dedicated in the Trustee work to protect these resources. He is a proud member of the Amagansett Fire Department. His local knowledge and commitment to Trustee affairs will serve him well as he seeks a third term on the Trustees.

Brian is endorsed by the Democratic and Working Families Parties.

Rona Klopman

East Hampton Trustee

An Amagansett resident for 29 years, Rona Klopman has been a tireless community activist and leader. Her respect and concern for our beaches, harbors and wetlands comes from her many years living near and walking along our fragile coastline. She has served on and chaired the Amagansett Citizens Advisory Committee, and served as vice-chairman and secretary of the East Hampton Democratic Committee. Rona is an active board member of Temple Adas Israel and member of the town’s Litter/Recycling Committee and member of Progressive East End Reformers a chapter of NY Progressive Action Network. She has been endorsed by the Democratic, Independence, Working Families and Women’s Equality Parties.

Rona graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Mathematics and continued her education, earning two Masters degrees leading to a 30 year career teaching reading in the Jericho School District.

Rona Klopman is running for Trustee because of her life-long passion for maintaining the quality of our waters and access to our magnificent beaches. To attain that goal, she believes in working for better cooperation and communication between the Trustees and the Town Board, recognizing and working with government agencies such as the State Department of Environmental Conservation, and educating the public about the duties and responsibilities of the Trustees. She is supportive of initiating legislation which will protect our natural resources and beaches so all residents are guided by the same rules and regulations.

Rona is endorsed by the Democratic, Independence, Working Families, and Women’s Equality Parties.

Peter Van Scoyoc

I want to do what I can to ensure that future generations will continue to enjoy the beauty and bounty of our surroundings and experience the care and support that our small town community offers. As a business owner, I understand the need to support local business while balancing the needs of the community and environment.

William Taylor

East Hampton Town Trustee
Bill Taylor

He was hired as East Hampton’s first Senior Harbormas-ter in 1989 and promoted to Waterways Management Supervisor in 2000. Bill was deeply involved in the creation of the Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan, the local federally designated “No Discharge Zone”, and our longstanding beach driving regulations.
